Gift Giving With A Mission: The Best Kind Of Gift Guide

When I was a little girl, I absolutely loved creating handmade Christmas presents. I loved this process so much that I would turn on Christmas music in July and most of the time, had the gifts completed and wrapped all by October. While I still have a huge love for gift giving at Christmas, I now frequently find myself looking for just the right gift all throughout November and sometimes, even up until Christmas Eve. I don’t make many of my own handmade treasures these days, but this love for handmade items as a child now encourages me to celebrate the creativity and talents of other artisans. In the age of consumerism and “ultimate holiday gift guides”, it is helpful to see that our purchases have profound weight in the lives of those they support. They can be used to support missions and charities that aim to give back, help the downtrodden and create an atmosphere of human flourishing whether here or abroad. As Halloween has passed and the holiday season is upon us, I hope that these next shops will encourage you to pursue gift giving with a mission and to purposefully support….

Known as “the friendly island”, Saint Martin (or Sint Maarten) is a tropical conglomeration of cultures, languages, food, and scenery. Having learned so much about the atmosphere and offerings of this little island, I wanted to put together a post touching on all the things we found helpful to know during our trip….

Cozy And Kind: Fall Décor Finds You’ll Love That Are Beyond Just A Purchase

With fall just around the corner, it seems that our hearts start to be drawn to things that are cozy. Warm blankets, chunky sweaters, spiced candles… just thinking about the warmth of fall makes me SO excited. Whether you are all into pumpkins or simply enjoy tonal fall colors, this excitement frequently carries over into seasonal home décor, so I thought I might create a quick roundup of items that celebrates seasonal fall décor that is both cozy and kind. As I have been trying to avoid the pull of constant consumerism, I have recently been focusing my purchases on quality items versus just the quantity of items. Quality of materials, process and even more importantly, message. Today, each of the pieces within this roundup support the fight against our modern day slavery: human trafficking. Whether made by….

Beyond The Candy: A Fun Spin On The Easter Basket

As a hallmark of the Spring season, Easter has become more and more special to me over the years. A holiday to celebrate one of the most glorious days in all of history, Easter brings to mind both the sacrifice and ultimate celebration of Christ rising from the grave to conquer death. Unlike Christmas however which is celebrated in a mass of carols, gifts and tinsel, Easter seems to frequently sneak up on me. Perhaps it is the changing date or the varying weather, but whatever the case, each year I hope to be better at celebrating Easter beyond the events of Holy Week. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts last year to establish more Easter traditions (written about in the post: Easter Celebrations: 5 Great Ways To Experience The Season!), the upheaval and moving of our first few months in 2023 has led to few new traditions this year. That being said, even on the busiest of years when new traditions seem out of reach, creating unique Easter baskets….
