A step by step guide to measuring your space

Measurement 101

To provide the most accurate measurements for us to use to design your space, please follow these simple steps.

  • Draw out the footprint of your room, noting any doors, windows, doors or any other architectural features (fireplaces, stairs, cabinets, radiators etc).
  • Label the walls with North, South, East and West.
  • Measure the width and length of the room. Next measure each wall individually and include measurements for each wall space, door, window etc. Please be sure to measure the openings and the moldings/ casings for each door, window, cased opening etc.
  • Note the ceiling height of your room.
  • If you have a fireplace, please also include the dimensions of the floor surround and/or hearth.

Voila, you have measured your room!
