It’s officially love month! With just under 10 days to go until Valentine’s Day, stores are full of festive red and pink and as they happen to be my daughter’s two favorite colors, I am all here for the cheerful tones which stand in stark contrast to our gray wintery weather! Despite Punxsutawney Phil’s shadow calling for 6 more weeks of winter, these bright Valentine’s colors have been awakening spring in my mind, so in honor of this (and my daughter’s first birthday!), I thought I might create a little roundup of pretty pink finds which provide subtle Valentine’s Day cheer to carry into spring. Items which could lean Valentine’s Day due to their colors, but also could read as a festive spring palette with their floral patterns, pastel tones and cottage style charm. So, whether you are looking for subtle Valentine’s Day decor or are ready to channel the warmth of spring inside, here are a multitude of pretty, pink, Valentine’s Day inspired spring finds.

Pink in Entertaining

Whether looking to accent pink in a more subtle nature through this beautiful set of floral Lulie Wallace ceramic dishware and classic striped placemats or in a more pronounced way with a pink mug, hydrangea candles or block print dining table lamp shade, you really can’t go wrong with these finds! Certainly, when paired together or with other pink and red details, they are perfect options for sophisticated, subtle Valentine’s Day decor but when styled with other green and blue accents, they easily can be pulled in a whimsical, pastel spring direction, making them very versatile to use both now and in the seasons to come.

The ‘Unexpected Red Theory’

I believe when most people think of integrating pink into their living room or bedroom, they are a bit intimidated as they imagine the space feeling childish. Certainly, some pink tones can feel youthful at times, but often a pop of red or pink can actually make a space feel grounded and complete. In fact, in interior design, the “Unexpected Red Theory” asserts that adding in an unexpected pop of red to a room instantly makes it appear more vibrant, warm, and grounded even if the design does not utilize red elsewhere. While some designers stick to a true pop of red, others extend this theory to include pink as well, so, if you need an unexpected pop in your decor, adding in a bright pillow, lamp, books or even ring dish can help give your space the unexpected pop it needs to bring it all together.

Final Thoughts

Growing up, my very favorite color was pink and my mom’s was red so now having a daughter of my own whose favorites are both is such fun. I have loved finding new ways to integrate these colors in our decor, especially for her birthday and Valentine’s Day, but even stretching versatile pieces into the spring and summer months. But I would love to know! Do you enjoy this color combination or would use it in your decor? Be sure to check out these pretty in pink finds and share this post with a pink loving friend!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
